What I do

What are AI assistants telling your customers?

More of your customers now ask an AI assistant before they ask anyone else. Which supplier to shortlist, which firm to call, which product to trust. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity answer with confidence and name specific businesses. Whether yours is among them, and what gets said about it, has become a commercial question, and almost nobody has checked the answer.

The assistants build their answers from two places: what they absorbed during training, and what they can read on the web when they search. Both can fail. A business whose website only shows its content after the page has run its code is invisible to them, however good it looks to a person. A business that closed two years ago can still be recommended, because the training data never heard the news.

The industry has started calling this generative engine optimisation, or GEO. Strip the label away and it is a plain question: when a customer asks a machine, does your business get named, is what's said about it true, and if not, why not.

I measure it. Realistic customer questions, asked many times over, every answer recorded, every figure traceable to a recorded answer. The result is a report in plain English: where you appear, what gets said about you, what's wrong, and what would help.

I work with businesses of any size and sector, from independent owner-operators to firms in regulated markets. The first look at your business is free. Email contact@signal-lock.com.
